The sun, a star which nourishes the earth and gives it light and heat, so to shining star enriches our knowledge.

Shining Star came about because of a lack of multifaith and multicultural resources in Southampton. In order to find resources for our family, we had to travel to London, Birmingham or use mail order services. Due to this, we decided to set up Shining Star so that these resources were accessible to more people.

 

As we have developed, we have discovered excellent resources that are unavailable in the UK. We believe these would be useful in promoting racial and religious harmony and tolerance.

 

Shining Star is a not-for-profit making organisation as any profits that are made are used to buy new and authentic resources from around the world.

 

We have also committed ourselves to donate a percentage of profits made over the year 2006 to the South Asia Earthquake Appeal .
